Painters, Potters, Jewelers, and Musicians will be meeting at the Lacombe Memorial Centre this weekend, for the 18th annual Encore Art Sale.

15 local artists and several others from across Alberta will be showcasing their art and if something stands out to you, you'll have the chance to take it home with you.

Organizer Maureen MacKenzie with the City of Lacombe, says they've been told time and time again, it's the best art show in the region.

"We treat our artists incredibly well. We have a luncheon on Friday so they can meet each other, and get all set up. Of course the Centennial Hall in the LMC is absolutely stunning, and a beautiful facility for an art show. So we get a lot of really positive comments that this is one of the prettiest, and nicest shows in the area."

There are also over 50 pieces of student artwork from local Junior and Senior High schools, competing for awards.

MacKenzie says one of the prerequisites of entering the show was that the art for sale had to be handmade.

"Everything has to be made by the artist. It has to be handmade, there can be no imports whatsoever. Plan on making a day out of it. We've got a fabulous trade show going on at the Gary Moe Autogroup Sportsplex, and then we have the art show and sale here in the LMC. So there's no reason why a family can't make a full fun day out of it."

The show runs until 5:00pm this afternoon, and admission is $5.
