The 17 year old male from Maskwacis, Alberta, involved in yesterday's incident has been remanded into custody with a first appearance court date of July 20, 2017.  The 17 year old male who cannot be named as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act has been charged with the following:
  • Sec 221 CC - Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm x 2
  • Sec 255(2.1) CC - Operation with over 80 mgs. of Alcohol Causing Bodily Harm x 2
  • Sec 249(3) CC - Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm x 2
  • Sec 255(2) CC - Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm x 2
  • Sec 252(1.2) CC - Failure to Stop at Scene of Accident Causing Bodily Harm x 2
  • Sec 253(1)(a) CC - Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Sec 253(1)(b) CC - Operation Over 80 mgs. of Alcohol
  • Sec 249(1)(A) CC - Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
  • Sec 252(1.1) CC - Failure to Stop at Scene of Accident
  • Sec 333.1 CC - Theft of truck
  • Sec 51(A) CC - Operate Motor Vehicle Without Valid Drivers Licence
  • Sec 54(1)(A) CC - Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance
The registered owner who was thrown from the fleeing truck is now in critical condition and was transported by STARS to an Edmonton Hospital.
