A Central Alberta Tourism Company has won a Dragon's Den style entrepreneauship challenge, and with it $10,000.

JP and Danielle Fortin, owners of Pursuit Adventures proposed a new Outdoor Culinary Adventure tour, combining the amazing outdoor experiences Central Alberta has to offer with local culinary adventures.

JP says our region is such a diverse landscape, that it's attracting people from all over the world to their tours.

"The ice bubbles this winter were popular. We have people from Hong Kong coming next week. We've had people from the U.S, Europe and Australia come on our tours. So it's been amazing when they see the bubbles, but then you can also show them the prairies, David Thompson region, and the badlands. They see how great an area it is to explore."

JP says with more and more people avoiding big trips out of country for their vacation, business is booming.

"For us, more people are staying closer to home, and want to explore their backyard and see what there is to offer close by. People also may decide to take a day trip instead of a full on holiday, which is just as great for us."

The Fortin's who started out as a ski bus offering weekend trips to ski resorts, will be offering their new Outdoor and Culinary Adventure tours by mid May.
