While renovations are not quite complete at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex in Lacombe, all of the essentials are in place for tomorrow night's Lacombe Generals home opener.

The lower main lobby and concession will be open with access to brand new washrooms as well as new washrooms on the upper floor that are accessible off the east side bleachers.

City of Lacombe Engineering Services Manager Jordan Thompson says to accomodate the large crowd expected, there will also be two ways to come into the arena as renovations continue on the main entrance "the entrance that users are familiar with on the northwest corner of the building will be the primary entrance, but for the purposes of this game, we're also opening an entrance around the east side of the building that will go through what will be the new skate sharpening space, so that access will be available as well for the generals game".

Work is actually 3 weeks ahead of schedule.

Thompson says "the lower main lobby will be completely open, including the concession, brand new washrooms which are expanded washrooms, barrier free as well as new washrooms on the upper floor which are accesible off of the east side bleachers on the upper lobby".

Thompson says work on the main entrance should be wrapping up around January 22nd, and in late spring construction crews will return to widen the hallway in arena 1 and work to improve that space.
