On August 24th at approximately 2:50am, Innisfail RCMP while on routine patrol noticed an older model black ford truck with an expired plate on 50th street, in Innisfail. 

Police activated emergency lights however the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and police did not pursue for public safety reasons.  

Members located the same vehicle a short time later and noted it to be slowing down and swerving in the lane.  

The vehicle exited the roadway and entered a farmers field where it stopped because it has run out of gas.  

The vehicle was confirmed by police to be stolen.  

The female passenger exited the truck and was arrested without incident.  

The male driver fled on foot and with the assistance of RCMP police dog services the male was arrested a short time later. 

Katelin Savard (Cunningham), a 25 year old female from Innisfail Alberta has been charged with :

• Possess stolen property under $5,000.00 X2

• Breach of Recognizance X4

• Possess weapon dangerous to the public peace

Katelin Savard was held in custody to appear for release hearing on August 25th, 2017, at 930 am  at Red Deer Provincial Court.

Jeremy Terpstra, a 33 year old male of Red Deer Alberta has been charged with : 

• Possess stolen property under $5000.00 X2

• Flight from Police

• Obstruction

• Dangerous Driving

• Drive while disqualified

• Mischief not exceeding $5000.00

Jeremy Terpstra was also scheduled to appear in court for release hearing Friday August 25, 2017 at 930 am, Red Deer Provincial Court.
