The rodeo in Tees this past weekend didn’t disappoint.

From barrels to steers, saddlebronc to bull riding, the 42 Annual Tees Rodeo had many reasons for people to get excited.

Hosted by the Tees Ag Society and part of the Central Alberta Rodeo Association, the three-day event saw some of the best athletes in Alberta and across the world.

President of Ag Society Cody Meston said the Tees rodeo has always been great a launching pad for riders.

“There’s been kids who have started here that are now world champions and Canadian champions such as Scottie Schiffner. There’s numerous, numerous guys who have started out here at these rodeos and go up through the ranks.”

“It’s great to see all the kids come out and learn from the older guys who are riding.”

The event also gave kids the chance to get up close and personal with the 2017 Rimbey Rodeo Queen Mackenzie Skeels, who’s been attending the many rodeos across Central Alberta.

“It’s just such an amazing experience to come and represent my hometown and represent the sport of rodeo and agriculture as a whole.”

“It’s such huge thing to be a role model for little kids. It’s awesome to have people look up to me and to give them that positive influence.”

It’s the seventh rodeo put on by the Central Alberta Rodeo Association this summer with the next one happening in Bentley this upcoming weekend.
