After a successful first year event in 2016, Lacombe Ford is back with their Drive One Away Ball Hockey Tournament.

Last year the $13,000 they raised was split between the Terrace Ridge playground project and relief efforts for victims of the Fort McMurray wildfire.

Lacombe Ford Marketing Director Kelsey Bilyk explains who their charity of choice is this time around.

“We actually left it open to the Lacombe community to vote on Facebook, so thank-you to everyone who voted and Lacombe Victim Services is actually going to be our recipient of anything we raise that day. We can raise up to $6,000, all we need for that is 300 test drives, one day”.

You have until May 15th to register a ball hockey team in the June 3rd event.

It's a completely free event, with no registration fee and it was so much fun for the whole family, so Bilyk says they had to bring it back to build on that success.

“The Blackfalds Wranglers will be back for the kids skill zone, lots of kids liked the slap shots, seeing their speed and doing some puck handling with the pros. We’re also going to have potentially a bouncy castle, a few other games for the kids to play, there’s food, there’s giveaways and of course the hockey games to watch”.

Ford Canada will donate $20 for every test drive that day.
