It’s an exciting weekend coming up for the midget hockey players of Lacombe and the surrounding area.

The Central Alberta Selects Sunny 94 Midget AA team is hosting the North Division Playoff Tournament this weekend at the Gary Moe Auto group Sportsplex.

This is a big deal for some of the older players since it could be their last competitive hockey game, those graduating this spring will be done midget hockey if they are defeated.

Although the win they seek would keep them on the ice for a little longer.

The winner will then move on to a best of five playoff series. The final winner of that round will move on to provincials later this month.

The teams will play two games per day starting Thursday (March 7) and the final will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

Viewership is encouraged, as the Gary Moe Auto group Sportsplex will be buzzing all weekend long.
