The Lacombe Generals have no opponent to hit the ice with on Friday, November 2nd. They were scheduled to play the Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs had to pull their team out of the league.

“I’m proud to say I’m not well versed in this because stuff like this doesn’t happen all the time, so we’ll just have to evaluate.”

Jeff McInnis is the Generals GM, and he says there are many reasons why a team may have to withdraw from play, including possible lack of funds.

“Finances are always hard in amateur hockey but they decided they didn’t have the club or the numbers, and it’s never easy in that aspect.”

He isn’t sure how this will impact their future games scheduled against Fort Saskatchewan since this is something the team hasn’t had to experience yet before.

The Allan Cup will still continue without the Chiefs.
