The Lacombe AA General's quarter-final series against the Daysland Northstars will continue for one last battle royale.

On Friday, February 7th, the Northstars dominated game three with a 6-0 shutout. However, on Saturday, February 8th, the Generals came back for vengeance in game four with a 7-1 victory.

Lacombe was quick to start scoring two goals before the first period was out, which was only the beginning of their successful night.

In the second period, the Northstars managed to score their one and only goal. Meanwhile, the Generals put away two of their own including one impressive goal from Patrick Turville, with the assist going to Chance Abbott.

“That was all him, I just had to tap it in. He’s got great wheels and creates a lot for himself, so (he's) pretty easy to play with,” said Turville about the goal.

Turville and Scott Doucet were the top scorers of the night each scoring getting two apiece.

Lacombe dominated the third period, scoring three powerplays goals. Turville believes that staying out of the penalty box will be imperative to their success in game five.

“They like to suck guys in after the whistle. If we can keep the powerplay rolling that will help for sure.  I say between whistles be ready to go to war,” said Turville.

Overall, he was pleased with the outcome of the game.

“That was a big one. Right from the start, we came out good and just kind of kept it rolling. We scored on our chances and (it made a) big difference. Mack (Engel) played well in net.”

Shots on net were 48-26 for the Generals but Engle made a few incredible saves.

Turville noted that Friday night’s game was not the team’s best effort, but hopes the team is able to go onto the ice with the same energy from game four.

“Come out with that effort, come out ready to battle, and be desperate. We know it’s going to be a battle. They’re going to bounce back as well. Just got to come ready to go,” said Turville.

The fifth and final game of the series will take place in Daysland on Sunday, February 9th at 3:00 PM where the two teams will finally square off and decide who shall progress onto semi-finals.

The winning team will be joining the Red Deer Rustlers, Morinville Kings, and the Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs in the semis. For more information on playoffs click here.
