The Hunting Hills Lightning fell 42-7 to the Foothills Falcons from Okotoks in the Football Alberta Tier II semifinals.

With seven turnovers in the game, Lightning head coach Kyle Sedgwick said it wasn’t their day.

“I thought the first quarter-and-a-half … was a slugfest. These looked like the two best teams in the province. They really did. I’m proud of our guys and I don’t think the score’s indicative of what that game could’ve been,” Sedgwick said.

“They capitalized today and we just had some errors but full credit to them, they took advantage of it.”

Sedgwick said to meet Foothills in the semifinals in the last three years is something his team should be proud of.

The Falcons will face the Lloydminster Barons for the championship on Saturday in Lacombe.
