With a 4-3 loss to the Rosetown Red Wings on Saturday, the Lacombe Generals finished 0-2 in their pre-season tournament.

Despite the two losses, head coach Sean Robertson said there were a lot of bright spots.

“We had to figure out what was that was going to make success for us. Once we figured that, we quit trying to be fancy and started getting results when we went to hard areas and doing the gritty things. Really good lesson for us.”

Not the results they were hoping for, but Robertson said he’s not too worried.

“We got a lot of character. We hope to be a team that moves the puck well, plays in your face and plays on top of you. Create turnovers and try to capitalize on them. We rely quite a bit on our character.”

In their game Friday, the Gens lost to the RDC Kings 5-4.

On a positive note, the Gens scored seven goals over the two games, including two from newcomer Nathan Deck.
