Lacombe Dodgers dropped to 6-2 on the season, after losing to the Innisfail Trappers 5-1 last night.

Although it didn’t go the way they wanted, player-manager Andre Touchette said that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

“We just didn’t get the hits we needed. We had some good at bats, but with runners on base we couldn’t cash them in today. It’s the way it goes sometimes.”

Touchette says he understands they can’t win every game and is ready to move on to the next game.

“If someone told us that we would start the year 6-2, we would probably take it. Innisfail is a good team and we know that we have to pretty much be at our best if we want to beat them. Next time, we’ll hopefully  be there.”

Next up for the Dodgers are the Red Deer Razorbacks on Wednesday.
