Blackfalds Wranglers goaltender Lane Brann turned aside 52 of 54 shots to help his team defeat the Red Deer Vipers 6-2 on Tuesday night.

"So far, it was probably one of my biggest games, for sure. It was a big win, we needed. The team helped out a lot to get that though. It was a good overall game," Brann said post-game, adding that he's the type of goalie that likes to stay busy.

"You're not just sitting there getting cold. You're always moving, always being able to focus on the puck and everything."

Landon Siegle, Bronson Spearing, Braden Olsen, Dylan Scheunert, Shawn Rowe and Ryan Chambers all scored goals for Blackfalds.

It was a performance to remember for Wranglers goalie Lane Brann, stopping 52 of 54 shots.

Dalton Angelvedt and Declan Johnston scored for Red Deer.

Vipers goalie Cole Sears stopped 34 of 40 shots.

The win gives Blackfalds the best record in the HJHL. The Wranglers have also surrendered the fewest goals in the league -- 35 allowed in 12 games.

Brann and teammate Rylan Bardick are largely behind the team's early success, said Wranglers head coach Sean Neumeier.

"It's a main reason we're 10-2. When we get in trouble, they bail us out. After they bail us out, we do our part. Brann and Bardick have been very, very good for us," Neumeier said.

The Wranglers are back in action Friday night when they host the Cochrane Generals. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
