Wolf Creek Public Schools has appointed two new Assistant Principals. Coleman Miller at Clive School, and Kacey Oehlerking at École James S. McCormick School.

Miller joins WCPS from the Battle River School Division, where he has significantly contributed as the Assistant Principal of Forestburg School, (a K-12 school), since 2021. His dedication to education has been evident through his achievements, including being an Edwin Parr Nominee in 2017, overseeing much of the inclusion portfolio at his school, and actively engaging in drama and theatre production. Miller's expertise also extends to literacy interventions and supports, demonstrating his comprehensive approach to student development and academic success.

"Coleman’s diverse experience and dedication to inclusive education make him an invaluable addition to Clive School and the Wolf Creek Public Schools community,” Sonja Dykslag, Assistant Superintendent of People Services.

“His passion for literacy and the arts, combined with his expertise in inclusion, will enrich our learning environment and contribute significantly to our students' success. We are thrilled to have him on board."

Miller is looking forward to joining the school community in Clive.

"I’m very excited to be coming to Wolf Creek Public Schools and joining Clive School. Having spent a considerable amount of time working in rural school divisions, I understand the vital role that rural schools play within their communities. I can’t wait to bring my experiences and contribute positively to the vibrant community of Clive School."

Kacey Oehlerking has been a valued educator in Wolf Creek Public Schools since 1999, as a French Immersion and music teacher from Kindergarten through Grade 2 at École James S. McCormick School and as the schools’ French Immersion Lead teacher. In 2012, Oehlerking took on the role of Education Services Coordinator at Wolf Creek division office, co-leading the Early Years Task Force, implementing programming and supports for instruction and assessment and provided in-school supports to lead literacy initiatives in French Immersion and EAL.

“Kacey provides a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise. Her leadership and knowledge of curriculum, combined with her previous familiarity with JS McCormick School will be a tremendous asset to the school community,” said Sonja Dykslag, Assistant Superintendent for People Services.

Oehlerking brings strong leadership to the position, having previous experience as Colony Supervisor to Wolf Creek Public Schools’ Colony Educators Team.

“I am absolutely delighted to be back at JS and honored to work with the staff, students and families. I’m so excited to be a part of this amazing community and supporting the great work that is happening in both French Immersion and English at the school,” said Oehlerking. “Working in the early years and supporting students in building a strong foundation for the rest of their educational years is incredibly important to me.”

Oehlerking holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Secondary Music from the University of Lethbridge, as well as a Masters of Science in Education from Wilkes University.
