If there’s one thing that makes a Valentine’s Day extra special, it’s doing something different and out of the box! There’s nothing wrong with a romantic dinner with some candles and a big stuffed bear though! We’ve gathered a list of some of the must-go-to events to celebrate the most romantic day of the year:
Diamonds and Denim 2017 – Sheraton Hotel Event Centre
Feb 11th (Starts at 6pm)
- Brought to you by Spinal Cord Injury Alberta and The Leadership Centre of Central Alberta.
- There will be a romantic dinner, a dance with live music, both live and silent auction, and a grand prize raffle for a diamond pendant valued at $2,500.
- All proceeds will be split going towards Spinal Cord Injury Alberta and The Leadership Centre of Central Alberta.
- Despite it being a romantic evening the dress code is casual!

“Feels Like Home” Sweethearts Market – Quality Inn North Hill
Feb 11th (Starts at 10am)
- This market has gifts for that special someone –while helping you to avoid long jewelry store lineups and high prices. Many vendors have pieces that are homemade.
- Get your picture taken in the Kissing Booth!
- This event is free to attend and all ages are welcome.
Dueling for Hearts – Lacombe Memorial Centre
Feb 14th (Starts at 6:30pm)
- This is a fundraiser for The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
- There will be food courtesy of HT Catering & Meats as well as desserts from Lacombe Wine Girl.
- While you eat there will fun piano tunes from 2 competing piano players (Dueling pianos, hence the name Dueling For Hearts)
- 20% of ticket sales, 20% of bar sales, and all tips will be put towards The Heart and Stroke Foundation
- Tickets are $60/person and can be purchased at Anna Maria’s Café or at www.eventbrite.ca
GALentines Day Date – Red Deer Public Library Downtown Branch
Feb 14th (Starts at 6pm)
- This is an event meant for girls only! Anyone 13 and older is encouraged to invite their favorite gals (mom. grandma, aunt, best friend, etc) for a special date with refreshments and food.
- There is no admission fee required to participate
- Dress code is semi-formal
