Life can be busy, oh so veeeeeeery busy!! Sometimes we feel like we barely have time to do everything we need to do, let alone everything we WANT to do. Veganism (at times) can make that seem even more difficult, since alot of the foods we enjoy can contain sneaky animal products that you otherwise would have no idea are even in the food.

That is why food prep is so important when transitioning into veganism, BUT, sometimes life gets in the way! So what does one do when they are just to busy to prep for meals that day?

It is possible to find many vegan food items on the go, but they often don't resemble usual convenience food items. Go to any grocery store, they usually near the bakery and produce section, have an area filled with premade salads and fresh cut fruits and veggies. As much as I love fruits and vegetables, sometimes I want something with grains or more substance to it, so it feels like a more balanced meal. That is where the salads come in.

Made with vegan staple food items like quinoa, beans and rice, so many grocery stores offer delicious (and nutritious) fast meal ideas. All you have to do is ask.

While many premade salads are created using a mayonnaise based sauce or contain cheese, many do not, and don't be afraid to ask before you buy, you'd be surprised how many options you can find if you only ask!

The picture I shared are just two examples of premade salads I picked up one day when I was in a rush. The purple, is beet and onion salad, sweet and savoury and so nutritious! The other, quinoa salad, with no animal products in the dressing (I asked) haha!

Just remember never to be too hard on yourself. Any person that has ever changed their eating habits knows that there is an adjustment period and that it can seem daunting all at once, but slowly as you gain your vegan confidence, you will learn what foods to avoid, and which to enjoy!!
