On April 19, 2021, Innisfail RCMP were travelling on Highway 2A near Niobe when an officer observed a vehicle believed to be involved in a break and enter earlier that day in Bowden.

Police determined the vehicle was also towing a stolen a trailer. They conducted a traffic stop but the vehicle failed to stop and fled police. The occupants were observed and identified by police.  Assisting RCMP units continued to observe the vehicle and noted that the occupants later unhooked the stolen trailer and fled the area.

On April 23, 2021, Innisfail RCMP executed a search warrant in relation to the investigation at a storage facility in the Red Deer County. At this location, RCMP seized stolen tools, construction materials, an ATV, a stolen trailer along with firefighting equipment stolen from Red Deer County Emergency Services in Springbrook that occurred earlier this year. 

On April 24, 2021, Olds RCMP responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in Bowden. Police observed the same suspects in relation to the ongoing investigation and were able to safely arrest both suspects with no further property damage or injury.

25-year-old Christopher Posner of Innisfail was arrested and wanted on 13 outstanding arrest warrants encompassing 20 outstanding charges. He has been charged with 37 new charges from Innisfail RCMP and 9 new ones from the Olds RCMP related to the most recent investigation.

Posner has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on May 3, 2021.

26-year-old Lyrissa Deck of Sylvan Lake has been charged with possession of an illegal substance and possession of stolen property. She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court on May 31, 2021.
