The Red Deer Rebels selected two players in Wednesday’s 2023 WHL U.S. Priority Draft.

With the 18th overall selection in round one, the Rebels selected forward Cooper Soller from Los Angeles, California.

Soller, who is 14, racked up 76 points in 55 games this season with Shattuck St. Mary's 14U AAA.

With the 40th overall selection in round two, the Rebels selected forward Kue-Gene Park from Meridian, Idaho.

Park, who is 15, collected 45 points in 43 games in 2022-23 with Los Angeles Jr. Kings 14U AAA.

Soller and Park were teammates with Los Angeles Jr. Kings 13U AAA in 2021-22 and played on the same line with Park collecting 58 points and Soller with 57.

Players eligible for the 2023 WHL U.S. Priority Draft are 2008-born players who reside in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Players not selected in the 2023 WHL U.S. Priority Draft will remain eligible to be selected in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft on Thursday, May 11, or listed by a WHL Club at any time thereafter.
