The Red Deer RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance to identify multiple suspects involved in an attempted robbery and assault that occurred on the CPR train bridge.

On Wednesday, May 18 shortly before 7 p.m., a female and male were approached by a group of eight individuals. During a physical altercation, one of the women in the group attempted to take the female victim’s purse, however she was unsuccessful. The group left the scene shortly after and police were called.

Police conducted patrols but were unsuccessful at locating the group. Officers on scene noted a large amount of foot traffic in the area and would like to speak with anyone that witnessed the incident. Descriptions of the suspects are limited, however police are looking for six women and two men. Two of the women may be mother and daughter and are described as in their late 20s and late 40s or early 50s. A third woman was described as tall with a heavy build, and wearing blue camouflage clothing.
