If you listen to my show enough, you know that for most of the 90's I lived in Japan. I lived in the beautiful city of Kyoto but worked on a radio station in Osaka.

The station is called 76.5 FM COCOLO (translated means heart), and I was an announcer on the station right from the very beginning. The station was located right off the ocean in the World Trade Center building in Osaka. I did an afternoon drive program mainly in English but with messages and requests etc. in Japanese.

This year marked the 25th anniversary of the station so I was asked to be on station last night as a special guest. It was so cool to be on the air in Japan again after all these years.

Here is a copy of what the program looked like on the FM COCOLO page:

今年は FM COCOLO 開局25周年に加え、Whole Earth Station になってから10周年というダブル記念年。そのため、FM COCOLO で以前、英語圏の番組を担当していたDJ数人にリモートによるインタビューをCOCOLO EARTH COLORS 英語版行う。今夜はその第一回目!登場するのはカナダ人のダリン・クラーク!この後20時から、お楽しみに!

(translation) This year is a double celebration for FM COCOLO - 25th anniversary of the station's foundation and 10th year since becoming The Whole Earth Station. Therefore, over the next few weeks on COCOLO EARTH COLORS English I'm going to interview remotely a few former DJs who used to have English speaking programs. Tonight is the first such interview featuring my good friend Darin Clark! Tuen in from 8pm JST!
