I was happy to have a chance to attend Night #1 of the 64th Annual Rotary Carol Fest on Tuesday Dec 3rd at the Lacombe Memorial Centre. Being the longest running holiday event in Lacombe, I have been many times before to see my children perform in many a school choir. But it never ceases to amaze me the talent we have here in Lacombe!

With performances from the Lacombe Lions Community Band, Terrace Ridge School Choir, Singing Strings, Lacombe Christian School's Grade 5, Rosedale Valley Strings Prep and The Cats and The Fiddles, the evening was filled with entertainment and a great way to get into the holiday spirit. To be honest, I didn't realize how many wonderful string ensembles are based here in Lacombe so, in addition to the choirs, we were pleasantly entertained by them all.

Night #2 goes tonight (Wednesday Dec 4th) at 7pm with Flat Iron Jazz, Ecole Lacombe Upper Elementary School, St. Andrew United Church, and Parkland Men's Choir all taking the stage beginning at 7pm.  I have seen all of these groups in the past and trust me when I say you will not be disappointed. Get there early as it will once again be a full house!

Admission is free but dontions to the Lacombe Food Bank and Santa's Anonymous Gifts For Teenagers are gratefully accepted. I hope you get a chance to get out and enjoy our local talent!
