Sunny 94 has partnered with Central Alberta Rescue Effort Shelter (C.A.R.E.S) to bring you pet of the week! Each Friday we feature a new, super friendly, totally adoptable dog or cat. We’ll tell you a bit about them in hopes you’ll go to CARES, meet them, fall in love, and take them home with you!

October

Say hello to October!

Hi there, my name is October and I am a 7 year old female Doberman who loves to be outside! I was brought to the shelter by owner surrender and it’s suspected that I’ve never been off the farm or really treated as a pet before because when it comes to people I’m not quite sure what to do! I understand that it’s not October anymore but my name at my old home was “Dober” and I was surrendered in October so it seemed fitting!

I’m a short-haired, large sized dog and I don’t really get along with other dogs or cats. I don’t typically get aggressive but if you push any dog far enough outside their comfort zone it’ll never end well. I love humans though! Sometimes I’m unsure if they’re my friends and if they can be trusted but it doesn’t take long for to gain my trust. I’m a pretty quiet dog so the neighbors won’t even know I’m there! The ladies at CARES say that I’m definitely ready to be adopted! I’m always cold even when it isn’t actually cold so I won’t argue with a cute sweater…

I am all caught up on my vaccinations including rabies and kennel cough. I’m also spayed so if puppies were in your future – sorry! If you and I don’t totally connect when you come to meet me there are lots of other dogs and cats at CARES ready for their 2nd home – maybe you’ll take one of them home! I would LOVE to meet you – CLICK HERE to book an appointment with CARES and get the adoption process started.
