Sunny 94 has partnered with Central Alberta Rescue Effort Shelter (C.A.R.E.S) to bring you pet of the week! Each Friday we feature a new, super friendly, totally adoptable dog or cat. We’ll tell you a bit about them in hopes you’ll go to CARES, meet them, fall in love, and take them home with you!

Bridget

Meet Bridget!

Hello, my name is Bridget and I’m a 5 year old Havanese. I came to the shelter about a month ago with very little history or backstory. It’s suspected that I was a breeding dog and wasn’t treated with very much respect. I was found roaming the streets of Lacombe – luckily the team at CARES are very patient with me. I’m more than ready to find my new forever home!

I really like being outside; it’s one of my favorite things! I’m also very good with other dogs. In fact, it’s better for you to already have a dog for me to form a bond with and rely on for company when you’re not home. Like I said before, I come from a bit of a rough background where I wasn’t treated very nicely. You can tell when you go to approach me too fast because I will growl and submit. It’s not because I don’t like you, it’s because I’m still learning that people are friendly and that you want to love me – not hurt me! In order for you and I to become a bonded pair you’ll have to be patient with me and be willing to work with me. Everything will come in due time!

I’m all caught up on my vaccinations (kennel cough and rabies) and I’m already spayed! I would love to meet you! If you and I don’t jive, there are lots of other cats and dogs just like me who are looking for a 2nd chance at life here at the shelter. Come to CARES and meet us!
