Every weekday from December 2nd to December 20th, the Alix Chamber of Commerce is giving away a free Christmas Turkey!

One turkey will be awarded each weekday, Monday through Friday. Listen to Sunny 94 to find out the latest daily winner. Winners will be contacted directly by the Alix Chamber of Commerce.

Clarence Verveda with the Alix Chamber of Commerce says the idea was first brought up to the chamber members about 20 years ago.

“We just needed a local promotion to promote the business in town, and we thought this would kind of be a fun way just to get people to come into our stores, enter the draw, and have something to win.”

Alix resident Nancy Cannon was thrilled when her name was drawn on Monday, December 16th.

“Oh it was great! I was really pleased, I don’t win anything (laughs) it’s wonderful, a free turkey helps out a lot.”

Sheila Sandul won her turkey back on December 6th, and she plans on paying it forward.

“I work at the village second-hand shop here in town, The Village Shoppe, so most of my business is all from the shop, so I’m just going to do another little draw amongst all of our girls so someone else will win it. Another option was to give it to the food bank, so either or. There’s only two of us at our house, so I’ll just pass it along to somebody else.”

Winners will be drawn every weekday until Christmas Eve, so you still have a chance to enter your name into one of the participating businesses in Alix, which are listed below.
