Lacombe County is hosting a first time event this Wednesday focusing on health and farm safety.

The "Spring Tune Up" will run from 10-3 at the Lacombe Memorial Centre.

Assistant Agricultural Fieldman, Jalene Makus says they will have a number of groups on hand “Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, Alberta Blue Cross, Alberta Lung Association, Building Bridges to Health Naturally, multiple farm safety planning services, Grey Wooded Forages Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Man Van will be there from 12-3, they do a blood test to test for prostate cancer, Mental Health will be doing fatigue and stress management, and Passion for Health will be doing pre-screening, immunizations and diabetes control, and Strategic Hearing Solutions”

Makus says they wanted to host this event as local farmers gear up for the busy spring season “our goal is to give back to the community, especially to agricultural producers and rural business owners who work hard for us. This is our way to say thanks to the agricultural producers in the community”.

It’s a free event and everyone who attends will have their name entered for door prizes.
