There's no question, a number of hazards are present on the farm, but Lacombe County is encouraging the local farming community to be proactive and ready to respond no matter what situation may arise.

As part of their upcoming Spring Tune Up event, they're offering a farm first aid course.

Assistant Agricultural Fieldman Jalene Makus says they've teamed up with Elite Farm Safety to offer Canadian Red Cross emergency first aid and level "C" CPR.

She adds the training will be farm focused.

“They are going to be going through common situation that land owners are going to run into, and how to mitigate them, how to deal with them properly, and how to reduce the amount of incidents happening out there in the field.”

You do need to pre-register for the first aid course by Thursday, it will be offered on March 29th at the LMC from 9-5.
