It's a busy day at Westerner Park as the final move in's and finishing touches are placed on the 34th Agri-Trade Equipment Expo, which opens tomorrow (Nov 8th) and runs through Saturday (11th).

Show Manager David Fiddler says they continue to find ways to fit in more exhibits.

“More outdoor exhibitors, they have their tents up, they are going to have the heat going, and we encourage people to visit the outdoor exhibits on their way in. It’s a sold out show, we are right full to the brim and indoors, if you count the number of exhibits about 475 and 445 exhibitors but some of them have multiple booths”.

Every year they add something new according to Fiddler.

“We’ve got a program for women Friday morning, for farm women. We have a motivational speaker coming in talking about time management, making the best of your time. I think that could apply both to farm women and farm men as well. And we have a producer breakfast on the Thursday morning; the first 220 farm producers that come to the show on Thursday morning get a complimentary breakfast courtesy of the Ag Exchange Group”.

Once again the newest equipment, technology and services in the agriculture industry will be highlighted by the Ag Innovations awards.

First place this year is awarded to Arnold Innovations for the Combine Cylinder Reversers, with a few easy steps, the reversers promise to have your combine unplugged and on the go again.

A simple, all in one solution for calculating grain loss, the ScherGain Drop Pan picked up 2nd place, and 3rd place is awarded to PowerLift Hydraulic Doors, which are operated using hydraulic cylinders.

Fiddler says Agri-Trade will actually be hosting some special guests today (Nov 7th), 100 international visitors from 14 different countries will be taking in a preview of the show.

As well, Economists with Farm Credit Canada will be on hand reacting to the release of two reports this morning, one that looks at Canada’s performance in commodity exports and one that looks at Canada's manufactured (processed) food exports.
