The fire restriction for Lacombe County has been lifted after the recent rain and snow improved dry conditions.

Although the restrictions have been lifted, the county reminds residents that conditions can quickly change.

If enjoying a campfire, residents are asked to choose a safe location away from trees and dry grass, keep the fire contained, never leave it unattended, and ensure the fire is completely extinguished before leaving the area.

Residents are also reminded to properly extinguish smoking materials and dispose of them in designated receptacles.

Take extra caution when operating Off-Highway Vehicles and report any potential fire hazards.

Residents must obtain the necessary permits from Lacombe County before starting any controlled burns, and ensure they have the appropriate permits if they plan to use fireworks.
